Updates on Life, Speaking, and My First Reader Tour to Europe

life is moving fastMy life is a whirlwind right now, which is why this blog has been so quiet lately. I just spent 10 days in Austin, Texas attending the SXSW film/music/tech festival, and in addition, I’ve been finishing my book tour, doing lots of interviews and events for my new book, and overall, just trying to keep my head above water.

I’ve been sort of neglecting the blog. March hasn’t seen many posts and probably won’t. That’s not to say I have nothing to talk about – I have plenty. I’m currently working on articles on Austin, why your airline ticket costs so much, how to deal with traveling alone, my train trip through California, a video of me eating the hottest pepper in the world, and much more.

I’ve just been running around with this book so much that I haven’t had time to put the finishing touches on these articles.

I was meant to be slowing down, but lately I feel like I’m only speeding up. I was supposed to travel in April but I decided to cancel my plans and enjoy more of New York City. I really should spend more time in that apartment I’m renting. At this rate, my roommates will probably begin to think I was only ever a figment of their imagination!

Today, I wanted to ask you a small favor. Every year I take a survey to get an idea of how I’m doing, what you like and don’t like, and get constructive feedback to make the website better. I’ve created this eight-question survey, and I’d be appreciative if you filled it out.

Help me help you travel better. It won’t take long and I read every response and take all feedback seriously.

Two Other Big Announcements
I’ll be speaking at the NY Trav Fest on April 20th and 21st. If you live in NYC and want to meet other travel fanatics, register for the event.

I’m putting the beginning touches on my first group tour, which will occur from September 15th to 28th in Europe. The tour will be through my favorite cities in Europe. I’m going to show you what draws me back to these places over and over again. It’s open to 10 people on a first-come, first-served basis and anyone who signs up to the mailing list below gets first access to it:

If you want a chance to come explore Europe with me, sign up now. Registration will open at the end of May.

That’s about it! I’ll be back next week with hopefully at least one blog post!
