I’ve done it for a few years and it really teaches you a lot about how other cultures view education, children, and the world. Plus, you earn a lot of money and get to live in a foreign country.
This 5 part series is meant to help give an overview of teaching English around the world, some in depth country information, TEFL facts, and additional resources on the internet for those interested in teaching English overseas. Each part of the series explores one of these topics in depth. These posts are updated periodically to reflect the changing nature of the teaching English field.

This section deals with what it means to teach ESL and the different jobs you’ll find as well as the expectations and work environment for each of these different types of jobs.

This section defines what a TEFL is, how to get it, and if it is even worth getting. Moreover, the benefits you’re likely to receive as a teacher, such as pay, free airfare, free accommodation, and more is discussed in this section.

A country by country overview of teaching in Asia, the primary and more lucrative region for teaching in the world. This is the part of the world where most people, especially recent college graduates go, when they want to teach English overseas.
Part 4:Teaching in the Rest of the World
A region by region overview of teaching in other parts of the world, excluding Africa. It’s a rather long post and covers a lot of ground but in broad strokes.
