I think its funny that you got welcomed with the awful serenade! Have ever so much fun.

ps- there is a little pastry shop outside of Harrod’s, on a side street. a piece of cake there is awful, about £5.50, but was absolutely the most divine thing i’ve ever eaten. their pastries are a work of art, and filling enough for a meal!

The singing woman story was hilarious. I can’t believe people didn’t at least shush her. Here in Brazil she would definitely get a few shushes.

Summer in London is all about hitting the parks so escape the congestion and head to the huge park in Richmond or if you don’t want to make the trek, have a wander around Hybe Park and admire all the purple, sun-baked Pommy bodies.

The suberbs is where the real action happens so try to get out of the Liecester Square, Westminster area and hop the tube out to zone two or three. There are some parks along the river that are a fun way to spend the day. In Hammersmith, head to The Old Ship pub right on the Thames, sit on the grass, BYO beer and it’s a cheap afternoon while still getting the ambiance of the pub.
