Been there! And as nice is it was there, I liked the park all around it and the open field in the opposite direction, and the ultra-modern buildings across the street were almost as cool to look at as the palace.

Maybe everyone has heard this anecdote before, but it’s still shocking. During the height of the bubble in the 80′s the grounds of the Imperial Palace had an estimated value greater than all the real estate in California.
