Launching Nomadic Matt’s Community Forums (and a Blogging School!)

Today is a big day for this site and the start of many changes and improvements. After spending the winter on the road, I’m back in New York City with no trips planned until mid-May. I plan to rest, take advantage of spring, explore this amazing city, and start tweaking and improving this website. I have a lot of ideas and projects in my head, some of which will require your help!

You’ll be hearing about them in the next few weeks but today, I want to announce the first two big additions:

Community Forums

nomadic matt forumsAs many of you know, in January I did a Creative Live on budget travel. At the conclusion of this online course, a number of participants created a Facebook group for those involved as a way to connect, share, and support each other. It was an awesome show of initiative. The group has been super helpful for members and cemented the decision in my mind to create a forum for this website. I’d been thinking about it for a while and, after seeing how much people got out of this Facebook group, I knew a forum was the right thing to do.

So today, I’m launching the forums.

I know a lot about travel but I am only one man. You’re a community of hundreds of thousands. Your collective travel knowledge is greater than mine and so I created these forums as a way for community members to help each other, share travel ideas, support and inspire each other, organize meet-ups, and find travel partners.

Come join the forum, meet other people on the site, and share travel tips!

I’m very excited about this and can’t wait to start interacting on it!

Superstar Blogging Course

superstar blogging logoIn February, I did a beta launch of my new blogging course, Superstar Blogging. We limited to 50 people in order to get feedback and make improvements on the course. Demand was so high, we sold out in a few hours. I didn’t expect such demand for a blogging course but was very happy to know so many people want to create better blogs. We’ve been taking the feedback from students and improving the program, adding content, and fixing bugs.

Today, I’m relaunching Superstar Blogging and opening it to the public. Superstar Blogging is my course designed to help you succeed as a blogger – travel or otherwise. It contains all the methods and strategies I’ve used on my own blog. Everything I tell you in this course is something I do myself. It’s honest, proven advice from me and other blogging experts (I have a lot of interviews!).

Here is a detailed breakdown of what you’ll get in the course:

  • 35 detailed lessons covering the following topics:
    • Branding
    • The Importance of Design
    • Social Media
    • Search Engine Optimization A-Z
    • Getting Media Coverage
    • Monetization Strategies
    • Sales Pages and Conversion Testing
    • Working with PR, Tourism Boards, and Brands
  • Copies of How to Build Your Blog and How to Make Money with Your Blog. (The course materials. A $37 value!)
  • Amazing hands-on technical support and WordPress help from Chris Richardson of RTW Labs. (He’s the genius who keeps this website running!)
  • An active forum for group support from other classmates and your course instructors!
  • Expert interviews from top bloggers to help grow your business even more.
  • Monthly webinars on various topics of blogging and Q&As to further expand your blog.
  • Online resources and suggested reading materials.
  • Hands-on technical help with physically building your blog.
  • Lifetime access.

Superstar Blogging is a self-taught course so you can move at your own pace. There’s no rush, no deadlines, no pressure. Whatever pace you move at, Chris and I will be there to help and support you along the way. We’ll answer any questions, fix any problems, and make sure you reach your full potential.

Chris and I are very excited about this project. I feel there is a lot of room in travel blogging for growing the industry and creating more full-time, expert bloggers. After all, travel is a one trillion dollar industry and we both feel bloggers should have a more prominent role since so many consumers use our resources for planning.

If you’ve been thinking of upping your blogging game and want to turn your blog into something more than a side project, sign up for the course and start picking the brain of two experts today. We offer three membership levels so no matter what your blogging skill level is, there’s a place for you.

  1. NomadicMatt

Thanks for signing up! I’m looking forward to the forum helping others travel. I think there is a lot of room for a well run travel forum!

  2. Victor

Hey Matt, I really like your site, probably the best available.
    But I’ve been wondering.
How did you get money for travelling before the blog?

  3. 2 very excited and much-needed offerings! Thank you Matt! The forum is such a great way for everyone to connect and get their questions answered, and it’s great to see you’re catering to travel bloggers as well as travelers with the course. But from the outline you’ve posted, it looks like any type of blog could benefit, not just travel blogs!
