This Month’s Reader Q&A Video

By Nomadic Matt | Published January 13th, 2013

One of my new year’s resolutions was to do more video on this website. I not only want to make more travel how-to and destination videos but also resurrect my monthly video Q&A. Last year, I did about 5 before I slacked off, got caught up with my book, and couldn’t keep up with them but, now that I am only semi-nomadic, it will be easier for me keep up with these videos.

So, starting the new year off right, below you’ll find January’s reader Q&A. The video is about 4 minutes long and I’m going to try to keep them to about that length so they don’t get too boring. I have to get used to being in front of a camera again. I’m camera shy so these videos take a lot of practice before I actually start filming! (Don’t judge me too harshly!)

This month’s questions include information on teaching English, my lost bag, the moon, medical and equipment insurance, concerts, and much, much more. Take a look:

If you want your question answered, leave one in the comment section below. I’ll answer it in February’s video!

Can you explain what a mileage run is and how to organize one?

Nice new video series Matt, and a great way to answer questions from your readers!

I agree with Eastern Europe being underrated!! It’s amazing! Good job on the video, Matt!

Also agreed! I was pleasantly surprised with Romania and am planning an Easter Week trip to Southern Croatia, Bosnia and Montenegro. Glad to see the videos back!

You need to work on the sound it was just coming out from my right part of my headphone :P

Thanks! I’ll work on that for the next one!

Any suggestions for teaching in Japan or Korea (websites, companies or schools)?

You’re a natural in front of the camera. Enjoyable and informative.

For high school and college kids, how would you recommend traveling with the limited vacations and breaks? (excluding study abroad programs)

Your video was great!

I’ll be traveling to South Africa in July so I’m wondering…

Did you get any special immunizations/vaccinations before you left? Also did you bring along any malaria pills of any sort or find that to be an issue at all?

Thank you!

Awesome video man! Thank you for all your work. You’re inspiring me to get off the couch and onto a plane!

1. Basis overwhelmingly negative feedback from economy customers on American’s transatlantic flights in particular (hardest seats & worst legroom) relative to the competition, am astonished that your international experience with them has been so positive. Do you ever pole readers on their flight experience?

2. How do you think the AA/US Air merger will impact the flying public?
