Seems like you grasp it pretty well. It's what I write about on my website - full time traveling, and full time mileage earning! I have free flights booked to 5 different countries just this year alone and am still sitting on over 800,000 frequent flyer miles! If you have good credit, the credit card angle is by far the most lucrative, but anyone can do it. Check out my site, maybe you will benefit! Amex isn't accepted in most countries and if so, not before they ask if you have another card.Traveling with Amex and relying on it was a nightmare. nonexistent service, major errors and much and many inconvenience. It basically works out to be a 1% "cash back" ($10 = 1 point). I'm now thinking of transferring into an air miles credit card, but most CC's here in Canada have an annual fee of $150 or upwards.
