Carnival of Travel Blogs #16
By NomadicMatt | Published: April 3, 2009It’s been a busy few weeks for me and I have made headway into being a better blogger. I’m reading blogs more, commenting more, and tweeting more. I’m pretty far behind though. This past week has been a roller coaster but I’m buckling down before my time in Taiwan is up.
Here’s so goodies on the web this week that will help you get by until I post again:
Hostel Bookers is giving away free stuff via a Twitter contest. You can win a free trip to Amsterdam.
Lives of Wander continue wandering and have hit Africa. They offer some good advice on ways to afford a safari.
My Several Worlds is telling you why you should get fly with air miles to save yourself a lot of money.
Geoff has finally start his round the world trip and has landed in Mexico City.
Deb is running to fight cancer. Help her make a difference.
Leif has a good post about guidebook gigs and the work cycle of the experience.
While not travel related, Nicole’s post on dealing with heartbreak was wildly appropriate and funny and made me feel better.

You have also shared some personal stories which, in my eyes, also makes you a better blogger. I like the changes!!
I have you in my reader and I like what you blog most often. No complaints here
Thanks for the link inclusion, I appreciate it:)
Again: you’re welcome. And you owe me.
Hi Matt! Great work!
Now, one week working without coming here and you don’t even remember that
). Have a great weekend!
Blogtrotter still exists. But it’s there, even if India 2008 has come to an end…
Thanks for the link Matt, it certainly feels good to be on the road at last after all this preparation. Your blog has always been a very helpful source of advice since the start – and I have to agree with Gillian, the recent changes are great.
As for the heartbreak thing – I must say I can sympathise, being in a similar position back home was one of the things that convinced me to travel in the first place. It´s definitely a great healer.
Thanks for sharing all these links — it’s great to come across new blogs!
We completely sympathize with getting behind. Some mornings we forget to eat breakfast because we’re hitting the road fast, and internet can be so mythic that chasing it around town is a waste of precious time. We’re trying to get into a good groove from the start, balancing our attention here and online.
This is my link.
I like to read more and more about your trips and travels. I’ll come back more often now.
How does one participate in the Carnival of Travel Blogs?
Thanks,
TR
