Carnival of Blogs #6

September 5, 2008

Sorry for the lack of “deep” travel content this week but Nomadic Matt has been trekking in the jungle, had no wifi, and friends who don’t want him sitting on a computer all day. Normal site activity returns Sunday with a review of Ryan Air, followed by another interview with a travel writer, which is followed by more great stuff. Until then, here are some websites whose owners do have the time this week to deliver great content.

The Amateur Traveler is a one of the best travel podcast producers out there. I did an interview with him a few months back about Western Australia. His site is updated weekly with travelers discussing their experiences on the road. It’s great to load your Ipod up with these stories for those long bus rides on the road.

I met these guys on my first RTW. They are traveling the world by road and it’s interesting to here their story as they try to drive across the world.

A pretty famous travel site, The Art of Non-Conformity is run by Chris, a man who travels for a living. (I know- I am jealous too). He’s a great resource on how to travel and make money, tips for airlines (check out his new e-book), and inspiration for getting out on the road.

Speaking of airlines, for up to date information on the industry, check out Air Sick. It’s a great resource and contains smart analysis about the industry we love to hate.

Lastly, I’ll leave with a blog about my favorite country. Jamie’s Phuket is by an ex-pat living there and if you ever wanted to know anything about Phuket- forget the Lonely Planet, and ask Jamie. He’s better than any LP.

Again, for all my loyal readers, sorry for the lack of content but normalcy returns next week as does visit to your blogs and responding to comments. Let this be a great lesson to you all though- blogs suffer when on the road.
