It’s been a while since I’ve last done one of these. It’s not because there hasn’t been great stuff on the web, it’s because I’ve had too much to talk about! I thought for this edition I’d highlight all the great digital nomads out there. People who said no to the cubicle and decided to make working remotely a possibility. You don’t need to be a blogger to do so either. Many of these people are writers, photographers, programmers, consultants, web designers.
Christine from Almost Fearless gave up her corporate job to become a writer. Check out her latest post on whether or not you need a travel blog.
Cody from Thrilling Heroics runs a great site about social media marketing. He leveraged his great networking skills into a business. We both lived in Bangkok but oddly, we didn’t meet until we both happened to be in KL at the same time.
Corbett runs a website on lifestyle design, which is simply that catchy phrased coined by Tim Ferriss. Corbett’s site, Free Pursuits, gives some good practical advice on creating time and breaking free from the cubicle. I especially like his post on how it’s not a lifestyle for everyone and the discussion that ensued.
Dan from Voyagner is another lifestyle designer but seeks to be able to travel more. The website is tilted more towards travel than other sites.
Audrey and Dan from Uncornered Market have been traveling around the world for three years now. They work online and are photographers. They run a great blog and are currently exploring South America.
Colin from Exile Lifestyle is a new convert to being a “digital nomad” and his new site is out there to help him prepare for his upcoming world trip. He does web programing and design which gives him the flexibility to work anywhere.
Craig and Linda from Indie Travel Podcast run this award winning travel website. They both hail from NZ and used their production and editorial skills to teach English around the world as well as launch this great website.
Marina from Travel Experta gave it up to run a tour company in Costa Rica. What a dream job! You get to travel around your favorite country and get paid to do it! Maybe one day I’ll open a tour company. I think that would cool.
Lola from Geotraveler’s Niche uses her amazing photography skills to travel the world. Her work has appeared in National Geographic, Fodors, Forbes, and more I can’t remember. She is also the awesome editor of Matador Goods on the Matador Travel Network.
This is just the tip of the iceberg really. There are many more working nomads out there that I probably forgot. (Wasn’t intentional!). I hope these people can be used as an inspiration. No matter what your age is or where you are from, everyone has a the ability to be their own boss.

Nice to be in the company of other great bloggers – thanks for including us in this carnival of blogs! I picked up a few new digital nomad sites to add to my RSS as well.
Wow. Matt. I’m truly humbled. Thanks for the shout out.
Hey Matt!
Thanks for adding me to the working nomad crowd!
Oooh, thanks for the links to more muses for me.
Nice list of sites Matt. Nice to see I’m already in the know about fellow bloggers.
I couldn’t be happier to be on this list among so many other talented people. Thanks for the mention!
