This was a big week in the online travel world. A new website was launched for backpackers and budget travelers meant to help travelers get around the world easier and cheaper. The website, How to Travel the World, is by me!! Yes, of course!! I have put my wealth of knowledge into an easy to navigate website. It contains all my tips and facts and anything else you would need for a trip around the world. I am still building a few more pages for it but for now, it is ready to go!! Come check it out, give it a stumble, a digg, add it to your blogroll, recommend it to friends!
I also created a photo site. Pictures from Around the World is a simple photo a day site. Feel free to submit photos. I’ll post a different photo from around the world everyday.
In non-me news, Passports with a Purpose continues to gather momentum. I urge you all to go visit and support this worthy cause- because not everyone is as fortunate as us and we should help those who are barely surviving.
Travel Blissful is giving away free stuff. So is Ron from RTD13.
Heather on Her Travels is now on her own domain name. Check out her new site, Heather on her Travels.
Christine from Almost Fearless has a new website. After living in Madrid and traveling Europe she has lots of good advice. Check her out at Europe String.
As an avid flashpacker, I love reading about it. Travel Blogs has a great article by two hard core flashpackers. Here are ten reasons why you should go flashpacking.
Looking for some good eco-friendly gifts for travelers? Look no further. GoGreenTravelGreen has a list of 21 Gifts for Eco-Friendly Travelers.
If you are interested in having your blog or posts highlighted, contact me and I will consider them for next week’s blog carnival.

Hi Matt!
Thanks for the shout out about Europe String. I’m super excited about writing for B5 Media, and it’s been fascinating to delve back into writing about Europe. Today I have a post about a really cool flight search trick. Check it out:

This is always a good source of new reading for me. Since I just picked up a bunch of new blogs, making a post like this might be a good way for me to sort out which ones I actually like.
@Christine: You are welcome!!!!
@Daniel: Yes!!! I’m looking for new blogs too!!!
Thanks for the link to the 21 Holiday Green Gifts post. Also, for linking to the Passports with Purpose site. I agree that it´s something everyone should be supporting!
A great list, Matt. Thanks for the cool suggestions, I need new reading material.
Thanks for the link to the flashpacking piece, Matt — glad you enjoyed it! Anyone who calls me and Lindsie “hardcore flashpackers” is all right in my book.
Will be checking out your new travel and pic sites for sure.
Hi Matt
Many thanks for the link to the new site. As we’re both using Revolution, I’ll probably be picking your brain as I develop it further.
Matt – Thanks for the suggested reading. Most of these sites are now part of my Google Reader daily reading! Keep up the great work!
Cool carnival, love the Photos from Around the World site, great idea and fab pics!
Great to see another addition of Carnival of Blogs. Most of these were quickly added to my Google Reader. Keep up the great work.
