WIN FREE STUFF
July 11, 2008
Nomadic Matt is having a contest. You just need to answer this question in 400-500 words:
“What does travel mean to you?”
Answers can be slightly shorter but please don’t make them longer!
First place prize gets any TWO of these:
Second place gets the prize not picked by first.
Submissions must be in by midnight (US Eastern) on August 1st. Winners will be announced a few weeks later and their responses will be posted on the website.
Guidelines: None! Write whatever you feel. I’ll be choosing the one that best articulates travel. A piece that is really compelling, well written, and moving will be something that might win. Please spell and grammar check before you send it to me. Points will taken off for responses that require me to translate your work into something readable.

Carnival of Travel Blogs
I haven’t done it in awhile so I am overdue for another blog rond up. This week we’ll highlight some stories I like instead of just blogs I read:
Nerdy Nomad wonders if commenting on websites gets you readership.
Vagbonish has tips on finding a travel companion for solo travelers.
Upcoming family travelers talk about teaching their children on the road at The Wide Wide World.
Julie at Collazo Projects talks about how to work at home.
The Life Nomadic is highlighting weird hotels of the world.
The Corporate America Runaway talks about travel vs. motherhood. (guess which wins!?)
Carrie tells you how to improve your English.
Finally, Christine at Almost Fearless gives a great tip on how to travel long term and still get your mail.
Feedback
This website is now over three months old. I think the newbie phase is over and I’ve recently made some changes to the site. I’d love to know what you think. If you have any comments over the design or content, let me know. This site is for you as much as it is for me so if you suggestions for improvement or things you would like to see on the site, I’m all ears!
You can e-mail suggestions to: Nomadicmatt (at) nomadicmatt (dot) com
